Abeeda Hussain - Kasim

Social Transformation Intern

As an emerging student in the field of public health, Abeeda is deeply passionate on all things health advocacy, community mobilization, and health equity. In everything she does on topics such as health disparities, maternal and child health, and communicable diseases, Abeeda wants it to be rooted in health equity. Abeeda strongly believes that the pathway to equity is one that requires dismantling systems of oppression and empowering underserved communities. When less privileged communities are uplifted, so is everyone else. Despite her varied interests, at her core remains the desire to work alongside vulnerable populations and uplift communities to put health back into their own hands.
